"Slime" is an arcade-style shoot-'em-up where players control a character or spaceship and must shoot or avoid incoming slime-like enemies. The game is known for its simple yet addictive gameplay, typical of early arcade games. Here’s a breakdown of the gameplay:
Objective:
The goal is to survive as long as possible by shooting or avoiding waves of slime-like enemies.
Players earn points for defeating enemies, and the game gets progressively harder as the slime becomes faster or more numerous.
Controls:
Players use the keyboard to move their character or spaceship and shoot at the slime.
The Commodore PET’s keyboard input is used for directional movement and firing.
Enemies:
The slime enemies move in patterns, and players must anticipate their movements to avoid being overwhelmed.
Some versions of the game may feature different types of slime with varying behaviors.
Graphics:
Given the limitations of the Commodore PET’s monochrome display, the slime and player character are represented by simple characters or symbols.
Despite the simplicity, the game is designed to be visually engaging and challenging.
Scoring and Difficulty:
Players earn points for each slime enemy they defeat.
The game increases in difficulty over time, with faster or more aggressive slime waves.
