"Compare" is a game written by Glen Fisher and published by CodeWorks - Cursor, a company known for developing software for the Commodore PET. The game was released during the late 1970s or early 1980s, a period when the Commodore PET was a popular personal computer for both educational and home use. CodeWorks - Cursor specialized in creating educational and entertainment software for this platform, and "Compare" was one of their offerings.
The gameplay of "Compare" is centered around a comparison-based challenge, likely designed to test the player's ability to analyze and differentiate between sets of data or patterns. While specific details about the mechanics are scarce, it is reasonable to assume that the game aligns with the educational and puzzle-oriented style typical of CodeWorks - Cursor's other releases. The game was distributed on cassette tape, which was the standard storage medium for Commodore PET software at the time.
Unfortunately, detailed information about "Compare," such as screenshots, exact release date, or comprehensive gameplay descriptions, is not widely documented. This lack of information is common for many early computer games, particularly those from smaller developers like CodeWorks - Cursor. However, the game remains a part of the broader history of Commodore PET software, reflecting the era's focus on combining education and entertainment in computing.
